Happy Sunday, Indy! Have you enjoyed walking around Indy and seeing the art on the pavement and bike trails? We know we have! Thanks to Big Car Collaborative and their StreetSpark project, we get to enjoy it! And what’s more? You can help them make more!
Volunteering with Big Car’s StreetSpark project is a great way to get involved with It’s My City, Big Car, and the Indianapolis community!
This project has many focuses, including:
Making infrastructure changes to bike lanes, streets, roundabouts, and more to ensure walking and biking is more comfortable, safer, and more beautiful. The work also includes a collaborative Street Mural and Creative Crosswalks program!
Creating and furnishing greenspaces, bus stops, sidewalks, streets, alleys, etc. to make the areas more comfortable as well as aesthetically pleasing. This work includes an official Parklet Program to help businesses and other partners create and install creative seating areas in spaces used for parking!
Bringing creative and functional bike racks to more communities
As you can see, the StreetSpark has a wide range of volunteer opportunities!
So if you’re thinking of volunteering and you’re feeling artsy, this could be the project for you!
