How to Get Involved: Indy Parks & Rec

Thinking of volunteering but not sure where to start? Consider becoming an Indy Parks volunteer!

There are many ways to get involved:

  • My City My Park -- designed to recruit corporate citizens for service projects and similar stewardship activities throughout the Indy Parks system

  • Adopt-A-Park -- opportunities for individuals, civic groups, and local businesses to take on maintenance of Indianapolis’ smallest parks (less than 1 acre)

  • Advisory Councils and Friends Groups -- advise and assist the Indy Parks staff on how to meet the recreation needs of the community by contributing volunteer time on the Advisory Board

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, while simultaneously immersing yourself back into it. The Indy Parks and Recreation Department does so many incredible things around our city, but they can’t do it all by themselves. That’s why they need you! You help make it all happen.

Join us in our mission to make Indianapolis beautiful and remind ourselves just why we love our city.
