WHAT IS IT's MY CITY?

Forty years ago, Mayor Bill Hudnut iconically challenged Indianapolis residents to "put litter in its place," and do their part to clean up our city with a public service announcement that has become synonymous with civic pride -- the "Hudnut Hook." Today, the City of Indianapolis, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and Eli Lilly and Company, are building upon this legacy by challenging Indianapolis residents to once again get involved for the betterment of our community.
“It’s My City” is a three-year effort designed to leverage civic pride and engage residents in the health of Indianapolis. Designed to progressively improve our city until, at the end of 2019, we see a city that is clean, green and beautiful – and full of residents who are proud to call Indianapolis home.
